In September 2010, Oracle integrated the Sun certification scheme into Oracle’s certification program. The impact to Java certifications are minimal as the content of the exams will remain the same. The only noticeable difference, apart from the Oracle logo, is the name of the certifications. Refer to the table at the bottom for these changes.
Java certifications gained under Sun will still be recognized under the new scheme. If you choose to re-take the exam because the current certification is for an older version of Java, you will receive an Oracle branded certification like everyone else.
If you haven’t taken your certification but booked it before the rebranding was announced , it doesn’t matter. It just means that instead of the Sun logo your new certification will be of the Oracle brand.
